In a snap decision to extend one of their existing production lines, our team of conveying engineers attended site at Hitchen  Foods during shift changeover, and had 6 hours to install the extension of the modular belt conveyor to the mash potato line.  Work began at 7pm and completed within the time frame for 1am! for the morning shift to resume production.

Conveyors where manufactured off site within a two day time frame prior to installation.

L.A.C. Food Industry Conveyors are due to install a series of modular belt conveyors at St Ivel for their new yogurt processing line.  The conveyors will transport single lane pots through a series of conveying lines to produce multiple lanes to the packing section.  From there they move from the modular belt conveyors to the Palletising Conveyors for distribution.

From design, proof sign off into engineering and manufacturing completion took 6 weeks.  The conveying line lengths are in access of 30 meters overall.

Conveyors are used as components in automated distribution and warehousing. In combination with computer controlled pallet handling equipment this allows for more efficient retail, wholesale, and manufacturing distribution. It is considered a labor saving system that allows large volumes to move rapidly through a process, allowing companies to ship or receive higher volumes with smaller storage space and with less labor expense.

Belt conveyors are the most commonly used powered conveyors because they are the most versatile and the least expensive. Product is conveyed directly on the belt so both regular and irregular shaped objects, large or small, light and heavy, can be transported successfully. These conveyors should use only the highest quality premium belting products, which reduces belt stretch and results in less maintenance for tension adjustments. Belt conveyors can be used to transport product in a straight line or through changes in elevation or direction. In certain applications they can also...

A belt conveyor consists of two or more pulleys, with a continuous loop of material - the conveyor belt - that rotates about them. One or both of the pulleys are powered, moving the belt and the material on the belt forward. The powered pulley is called the drive pulley while the unpowered pulley is called the idler. There are two main industrial classes of belt conveyors; those in general material handling such as those moving boxes along inside a factory and bulk material handling such as those used to transport industrial and agricultural materials, such as grain, coal, ores, etc. generally in outdoor locations. Generally companies providing general material handling type belt conveyors do not provide the conveyors for bulk material handling. In addition there are a number of commercial applications of belt conveyors such as those in grocery stores.

The belt consists of one or more layers of material they can be made out of rubber. Many belts in general material handling have two layers. An under layer...

L.A. Conveyors are due to commission the Ridged Belt on to an Elevator conveying system, this will ensure effective product release for the client.

Within a Side Guide Conveyor, spaced apart at chosen intervals the 'Ridged Belt' up stand sections of the conveyor belt assist in the smooth transfer of product from one conveyor to another.  Guaranteeing that no product remains on the system to foul up the conveyor or stop production, but most crucially alleviates any wastage.

L.A.C. Conveyors are delighted to welcome aboard Rob Wood who joins the design development and engineering team, who exclusively manufacture conveying systems for the Food Industry.

Since leaving school Rob has been engineering conveying systems over the last 14 years and as such brings additional experience to an already excellent team.

Outside of the conveying industry Rob is a family guy, who also finds the time to manage a young local football team on Sunday mornings.  Rob commented ... Whether it's on or off the pitch, it's great to be working within a championship team.  I'm looking forward to bright future with L.A.C. Conveyors and achieving some new goals!

Maximizing production without waste is critical in the Food Industry.  By using the Side Guide Conveyors in food production prevents :- grassing, bruising and chafing of the product.  The Side Guides form part of the belt, as during the manufacturing process of the conveyor belt, they are molded together to form a single unit.  With this kind of unit the conveyor belt and conveyors side rails are totally synchronized to ensure minimum waste and maximum productivity.

Side walls are available in 2,4 and 6 inch heights making them suitable for products from Cherries to Pineapples, take your pick.

Hygienic operating systems are high on the agenda when installing conveyors into the Food Industry environment.  Therefore all sections of the conveyor framework are stainless steel boxed sections that are un-breached in the welding process of manufacturing.  Ensuring no ' Bug Traps' of any kind can penetrate the frame causing undue contamination of the conveyors system and in turn do not violate the food production process. L.A.C. Food Industry Conveyors Systems, manufacturing to the highest of standards, is the main concern for successful delivery to our clients.
